  • The pituitary gland is the master hormone gland. It secretes many different hormones that are critical for your optimal health. A major focus of myofunctional therapy is exercises that train your tongue to spontaneously rest on the roof of your mouth. Many mistakenly believe that the tongue is a muscle, but it's actually an organ, which has very strong muscles in it. It contains one of the strongest working groups of muscles in your body. The job of the tongue is to protect the airway, encourage normal forward facial growth when postured correctly in the roof of the mouth, aid speech, and move food around when chewing.
  • If your tongue is restricted due to a lingual frenulum (the string underneath your tongue being too tight) you'll have a hard time moving food into the molar area where chewing is concentrated, and consequently you will not be able to chew it properly. The tongue is also connected to the hyoid bone which is in your neck, so if your tongue is not functioning properly, it may lead to forward-head posturing. In this position your tongue is resting down and forward, and it's just enough to pull your entire head forward, thus throwing you out of balance.

Muscles of the face belong to skeletal muscles. Generally muscle of the face originated from surface of skull bones and inserted directly to the skin of the face. In order to reduce wrinkles of the skin and tone your face, most of NEWFace exercises are Isometric, the technique that allow workout of muscles without increase damage of the skin, involves help of hands. We will work with muscles that control facial expression, involved in mastication, orbital muscles within eyes, neck muscles that turn the head, involved in swallowing and phonatory muscles that involved in production of voice. Facial exercise is muscle toning via repeated voluntary contractions of certain facial muscle groups. It brings oxygen and nutrients to facial tissue. It increases stimulation of the neural pathways within cranial nerve of the brain that have positive affect of the sensory system- eyes, ears, nose and tongue. This extra stimulus as facial muscles contract, strengthens the neural pathways within the brain, improve facial nerve function will tone the face.

MUSCLES OF THE TOUNGE

The tounge is the organ that combined of group of muscles, that are called strongest muscles of the body. Attached to under-chin muscle group, tongue plays an important role in facial fitness. The extrinsic and intrinsic muscles of the tongue have group of exercises to reduce "Double chin".

MUSCLES OF THE EYES

Exraocular muscles that are present in the eye socket and move our eyes. Workout of eye muscles, identical to other workouts, will keep muscle tone, bring oxygen and nutrients to our eyes, improving eyesight and muscles tone. Eyes exercise combined with Reiki Energy Healing, if you watching the NEWFace Fitness DVD or at present in my class.

Our palms have healing energy. Often we use palm's energy unconsciously healing the painful area- when we have a headache, sore stomach, we touch an area with our palms.

    1. These are samples of Palming Exercises for the eye:
  • Rub your hands together 36 times
  • Catch the Reiki Energy(that I send) into "Palm-bowl"
  • Overlap fingers and cover your eyes properly
  • Open eyes under the "Palm-bowl"
  • Move eyes: right - left 10 times, blink
  • Move eyes: up - down 10 times, blink
  • Draw with eyes big square: top-down-bottom-up, 5 squares, blink
  • Draw the square in opposite direction, 5 squares, blink
  • Draw the big round clock, fixing eyes on 12 o'clock, 3 am, 6 am, 9 am
  • Opposite direction, 5 rounds, blink
  • Draw a snake from left to the right, without moving head, blink
  • Draw a snake from right to left, blink
  • Remove palms from eyes, eyes closed
  • nod: yes, yes, yes, no, no, no,
  • Take a deep breath, smile, open your eyes
    2. This is a sample finger point exercise for the eye:
  • Point your finger up on the level of your eyes, about 20 cm from your face.
  • Concentrate your eyes on your finger point, then look "through" same point on horizon. Repeat several times
NEWFACE AND NUTRIENTS
Intercellular Synthesis & Nutrients

The essential nutrients to support collagen production include:

1. Genistein: primarily found in soybeans, but also found in smaller quantities in other legumes like fava beans and kudzu. It is an isoflaven that has estrogenic properties and blocks enzymes that break down and age the skin.

2. Lutein: Eat dark, leafy greens like spinach and kale for Lutein and Vitamin C. Is there anything else like spinach and kale?

3. Lycopene: Eat red & orange vegetables and fruits like tomatoes, red peppers, carrots, and sweet potatoes are packed with lycopene, a powerful antioxidant supporting collagen synthesis. another positive, they also contain Vitamin C!

4. Hyaluronic Acid(HA): HA production supported by bean (legumes) consumption; Aim for two tablespoons per day. HA is found in virtually all of your body's cells. HA is intercellular that holds proteins, bind and retain water in the skin, cartilage and other connective tissue and in the synovial fluid that lubricates the body's joints. Body needs magnesium for complete synthesis of Hyaluronic Acid. Magnesium rich food: asparagus, avocado, broccoli, cauliflower, carrot, spinach, green lettuce and beans.

    Hyaluronic Acid rich foods include:
  • Bone Broth (bones, skin, cartilages, ligaments of chicken, beef and other animals cooked in water for long time).
  • Organ meats of most lifestock, fish eyeballs, veal liver is rich in Ha.
    HFoods that can improve HA level in the body include
  • Dark grapes, therefore grape juice and red wine (in moderation).
  • Soy products- tofu, soymilk, soybeans
  • Starchy root vegetables.
  • Spices and pepper.
  • Fruit- bananas, apples, avocados, tomatoes, melons, pineapples, pears, and peaches.
5. Naringenin: Research on naringenin, a bioactive ingredient in grapefruit, oranges and tomatoes, has a strong inhibitory effect on hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid in the body. Based on these research findings, published in a 2009 issue of "Food Science and Biotechnology," eating foods rich in naringenin may help your body to conserve more of its natural reserves of hyaluronic acid.

6. Essential Fatty Acids: Omega-3,6,9, Flax Seed, Nuts, Olive Oil, Salmon, Avocados, etc. Skin cells are surrounded by a fat layer of fatty acids. They really are essential for healthy looking skin - a tablespoon per day would be suggested.

7. Vitamin A: Back to those red & orange colored fruits and vegetables as good sources of Vitamin A.

8. Carnosine: A protein found in turkey that helps to prevent cross-linking. Protein degradation occurs as a result of cross-linking and the formation of advanced glycation end products (AGE). These changes figure prominently in the processes of aging and its typical signs such as skin wrinkling and brain degeneration. 9. Sulphur: Best food sources include garlic, onions, cabbage, eggs, meat, fish, seafood and nuts. The minimum requirement is 850mg/ for normal daily requirements.

10. Vitamin C: In the case of collagen, Vitamin C combines with two amino acids (lysine and proline) to form pro-collagen. Pro-collagen is then used to manufacture one of several types of collagen found in different tissues throughout the body. Best sources of Vitamin include citrus fruits, peppers, strawberries, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, mangos and kiwi. Most fruits and vegetables have some Vitamin C so if you get in your 6-10 servings per day, you should be good! You can also support collagen production topically with the application of Vitamin C ( ascorbic acid) on the skin. According to the Linus Pauling Institute, A topical application of ascorbic acid will penetrate the epidermis into the underlying dermal layers to synthesize collagen.

Antioxidants such as carotenes, quercetin, vitamins C and E, it's better to eat the natural foods than take pills.
